This dataset includes a behavioural rebound mechanism assessment tool, developed as part of the thesis: “Understanding and Preventing Behavioural Rebound Effects of Solar Panel Adoption: A Framework for Sustainable Design in Low-Income Countries.”

The thesis aims to support solar home system developers in identifying and understanding potential behavioural rebound mechanisms that may arise after the adoption of renewable energy technologies, and provide them with design prevention strategies.

The tool is based on a comprehensive literature review on contextual factors influencing rebound effects in both high-income and low- to middle-income countries. The design tool is validated through feedback from multiple experts and professionals in the field.
