Using three complementary X-ray methods (Scanning SAXS, µCT and XRF) we probe the dissolution, aggregation and translocation state of foliar applied fertilizers dosed to young barley leaves. Interpreting the time-dependent changes in each of the three signals we show how particles dissolve and some of the fertilizer material translocate to other plant parts while others are left behind.
