Data for: Shear failures in pile caps: governing mechanisms and influence of size on the resistance

This data set contains the complete experimental results of a series of 15 structural tests on scaled RC pile caps. The tests are described and analyzed in:

"Shear failures in pile caps: governing mechanisms and influence of size on the resistance"

published in Structural Concrete.

In the paper, the experimental setup, selected results, and examples of how the material can be interpreted are presented. The reader is referred to the publication for an in-depth description and explanation of the results.

This sample contains a Read-me.txt file that introduces the format of the dataset and the files included. The data is supplemented with images for the purpose of 2D Digital Image Correlation, images of the experimental setup, and details on the load cell including calibration records.

This dataset contains the following files:

0 - "Readme.txt" - (this file) containing metadata end explanations to the data set.
A - "Pictures_Setup.zip" containing images of the experimental setups adopted in the campaign.

B - "PC_Results_all_txt.zip" - a .zip folder containing all experimental records in .txt format.
Specimens PC250_1 and PC500_1 are not included.

C - "Load Cell.zip" containing information on and results of calibration a custom made load cell equipped with strain gauges.
D - "DT calibrations.zip" containing results of calibrations of the used Displacement Tranducers.

E - "Post-test pictures.zip" a .zip folder containing post-test images of the specimens, including images taken after cutting.
F - "Animation Strain Fields.zip" - example of combined 2D DIC analysis on two surfaces of selected specimens.

G - "DIC Load Stage Relation.zip" - selected relations of measured displacement and load at the individual DIC stages.
H - "Images_PCxxx.zip" - All images taken for the purpose of 2D DIC analysis.
