Data repository for the article "Magnetic levitation at low rotation frequencies using a on-axis magnetic field", which can be found here: arXiv: https://arxiv.org/abs/2502.04410 or https://doi.org/10.48550/arXiv.2502.04410

These data are located on the repository at data.dtu.dk, with DOI:10.11583/DTU.28302251 and URL: https://doi.org/10.11583/DTU.28302251

Overview:

The file Videos.zip contains the videos showing levitation for the three experiments, "Horizontal displacement", "Vertical displacement" and "Tilt". The videos are in subfolders named after the geometrical parameter changed, e.g. "dx=3mm" under "Horizontal_displacement". Each video is named according to the geometrical parameters, the initial distance of the aluminium plate from the bottom of the rotating magnet (so with a reported distance 5 mm less than the center distance reported in the manuscript, as the rotor magnets have a size of 10 mm), the frequency of rotation of the rotor, and the experiment number, e.g. the video "3mm_70Hz_35mmAlu_Trimed_2.mp4" is for dx=3 mm, a rotor frequency of 70 Hz, with the aluminium plate 35 mm from the bottom of the rotor magnet and this is the second experiment conducted.

The files "Levidist_list_Horizontal_displacement_exp.csv", "Levidist_list_Vertical_displacement_exp.csv" and "Levidist_list_Til_expt.csv" are CSV files based on processing of the experimental video files. The CSV files contains the Frequency in Hz, the geometrical parameter, the initial aluminum plate distance from the bottom of the rotor in mm, the determined levitation distance in m, the determined levitation time in s, a Boolean value indicating whether the levitation ended or not before the experiment was stopped - if this value is equal to 1, the value given in levitation time is simply a plotting value, and a Boolean always equal to one that indicates if the video was analyzed with machine learning.

The files "Levidist_list_Horizontal_displacement_sim.csv", "Levdist_list_Vertical_displacement_sim.csv" and "Levidist_list_Til_simt.csv" are CSV files based on processing of the simulation results. The CSV files contains the Frequency in Hz, the geometrical parameter in mm, the Initial position in mm, the Levitation Distance in mm without dampening, and the Levitation Distance in mm with dampening.
