Datasets for "On the lidar-turbulence paradox and possible countermeasures"
Here you find four datasets, each on a matlab mat file, each corresponding to a different height denoted by the file name ending ("_37m.mat", "_103m.mat", "_175m.mat", and "_241m.mat"). Each mat file contains 1000 randomly-selected arrays of Mann-model parameters (alphaepsilon parameter as "apha_epsilon_v", length scale as "Mann_parameters_1", and anisotropy as "Gamma_values"), which are used to compute the ideal sonic-based velocity variances (arrays "var_u_sonic", "var_v_sonic", "var_w_sonic" in m^2/s^2) and the lidar-specific variances of reconstructed velocities (arrays "var_u", "var_v", and "var_w" in m^2/s^2) for a given focus distance in meters ("df"), height in meters ("z"), probe length in meters ("zR"), and half-opening angle in radians ("phi").
