<p dir="ltr">The GWA 4.0 uses the Copernicus DEM digital surface model (DSM) GLO-30, with a horizontal grid spacing of 1 arc second (0.00027 degree, which is approximately 30 m). The related material contains the DOI to the original dataset and for the GWA4 the dataset was resampled to the above grid spacing using linear interpolation, because the original data has a resolution that is varying with latitude. We stress that this is not a digital terrain model (DTM), and therefore forests are to some extent double counted, because the satellites used for determining the terrain elevation cannot penetrate the canopy and thus include forest heights in the reported elevation. This introduces additional uncertainty for the wind flow modelling in forested areas.</p><p dir="ltr">When using this dataset, please cite using the following DOI:<br>Floors, R. et al.
