Reverse Logistics Support Tool

Posted on 2024-01-12 - 10:47 authored by Pravin Kumar Mallick

The Reverse Logistics Support Tool and the associated support tools help companies design and implement Reverse Logistics. It is built upon the principles of configuration systems to adapt the various aspects of RL design into a knowledge base and, subsequently, into an Excel-based support tool that provides alternative ways of approaching the various aspects associated with RL systems. The support tool is organised into modules that include assessing the various factors that can influence RL design (e.g., company’s motivation/drivers, product characteristics, the existence and nature of Extended Producer Responsibility legislation), the design of the RL system (the RL network/ channel and other aspects such as stakeholder collaboration, regulatory framework conditions, consumer behaviour and incentives, use of digital technologies and key performance indicators) and finally, aspects around governance/programme management.

Additionally, support tools such as the Play Book are provided that serve as decision support tools to provide more insights, enhance the understanding of users and facilitate decision-making.

Raw data related to the Feature Model is also provided.
