This is the ReadMe-file for downloading and using the raw data used for the results presented in the paper: "Ignition and combustion study of premixed ammonia using GDI pilot injection in CI engine" (Førby et al, 2022, Fuel) DOI to paper: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.fuel.2022.125768 The data-set is available as a zip-folder containing 3 folders; 1 for each day of testing (27/7 2021, 2/2 2022, 3/2 2022), with folder-names being the dates formatted as "yyyymmdd". Each folder contains: - 1 Excel file with data (test conditions) for each recorded test - Pressure pick-up files for each recorded test in the day of testing (number varies). The relevant pressure pick-up files are the .TDMS-files with names Run1, Run2, Run3, .... All the other files are files generated automatically from the data recording program (LabView). ***** Pressure files ****** Pressure-pickup measurements were recorded with encoder resolution of 0.1 CAD/measurement (10 measurements per CAD). Each recorded test (.TDMS-file) is 50 consecutive cycles (720 CAD), totaling 360,000 measurements (in [V]) per .TDMS-file. ****** Loading the .TDMS-file pressure data ****** When the .TDMS-files are loaded, multiple columns are found. The relevant data are in the "RSE2"-column. TDMS-files can be loaded eg. in Python using the nptdms-module and eg. subsequently changed to a data-frame using the Pandas library. NOTE: When this method is used, for some reason the column-index of the RSE2-column changes between runs, but the column name does not. ***** Important notes ****** - The tests on 27/7 '21 were performed with pick-up gain of 10 bar/V, while the other days the pick-up gain was 20 bar/V. - In the Excel-sheet for 3/2 '22, the two last tests have typos in the charge pressure (p_charge [bar]), and 1.1 bar should be added to these. - In the Excel-sheets for 2/2 '22 and 3/2 '22, significant uncertainty was connected to the measured emissions of NO2 and HCN. The measurements were not used for results analysis. - Mass-flow of ammonia are presented in the unit standard liters per minute (SLM) in the Excel-sheets. The used conversion is 0.0413 mol/SL for ammonia. (Perfect ideal gas is 0.0416 mol/SL)
